The U.S. Department of Justice has announced a revision to their 2024 Final Rule that updates regulations for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The new deadline for compliance has been extended by one year with the DOJ’s Interim Final Rule, effective as of April 20, 2026. State and local government entities with a population of 50,000 or more now have until April 26, 2027, while those with a population under 50,000 have until April 26, 2028.
